Treatment First Draft

Classification/ Genre: Drama

Short Summary: This short film will highlight a suicide attempt. We will have our main character standing on a bridge jus thinking before they plan to take their own life. The film will feature flashbacks of his life- outlining the reasons why he wants to end his life. Due to problems at home, and social problems. (Friends)

Inspiration: The inspiration for this film came from the short film that I watched on Youtube called 'That Girl That Lived'. This film shows how schizophrenia can affect a persons mind set which can affect a persons minds set and lead to suicide.
Myself and my group also watched another short film on Youtube called 'Crooked Film' starring J Cole. The film has many different camera shots and effects that would be useful in our film such as slow motion and mid shots.

Our idea is different because we haven't focused on a mental illness, but how everyday situations can still affect a persons mind set.

Audience: 15-21 we have chosen this target audience because our main actor will be Nathan from our group who is 17 years old. He is a teenager so we think that by having that audience age would be better as they can connect/relate more to the film.

Length: We will stick to the brief and keep the short film no longer that 5 minutes.

Logistics and Feasibility:
Equipment: may need lights if filming gets delayed and if it gets dark. We need a tripod to ensure some shots are filmed properly without a shaky camera.
Locations: someone's home to film family scenes. A friends house/park to film social situation/problem. Olympic Park Canal OR Regents Canal- with a bridge.
Actors: main actor- Nathan- Male- 17 years old - Casual clothing, jeans, tshirt, trainers.
*Family- brothers, sisters? Mum, Dad? Girlfriend?

Ethical Issues: copyright of music, permission to film

Distribution: YouTube, Social Media such as Twitter and Facebook and our individual Bloggers.
